Rockal Evans

Rockal Evans

Rockal Evans is 6 ft 6”, strong and fit. One day he hopes to become a successful sailing coach back home in Bermuda. His grandfather is an Olympic hero in Bermuda – Howard Lee – who sailed in the Finn class in the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games. Evans’ main sporting goal is to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and is aiming to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games Sailing Competition. He trains with Olympic champion Malcolm Smith (Bermuda) and gets inspiration from his grandfather (Lee), although Evans does not have a personal coach. This makes his Olympic campaign more difficult. Rockal, or ‘Rocky’ as he’s known to friends, has a hero who is not another sailor – it is motorcross racer James Stewart, who he describes as ‘the Tiger Woods’ of motorcross.
