Hao “Howard” Chang is fast becoming a well-known name on both the Australian and international sailing scene.
The Chinese Taipei athlete, who lives in Taiwan, started his first Emerging Nations Programme as quite a reserved young man. Since then, his coaches have watched with delight as his knowledge and confidence have grown over the four ENP camps he has attended.
He is now known as a “character” within the camp, with his cheeky grin and desire for success making him a well-liked member of the programme, and his sailing abilities were highlighted when he won the 2010 RS-X Australian Championships
Howard has travelled to the Philippines, Hong Kong, UK, Denmark, USA, Korea, Indonesia, New Zealand and Holland to compete in windsurfing events.
He studies ocean science at home and also has a passion for surfing.
