Day 8 Men’s 470: Aussie stars within a whisker of retaining the world crown
Defending world champions, Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page (AUS), did enough on the penultimate day of the Men’s 470 competition at the ISAF Worlds to put them in the box seat for Sunday’s (11 December) Medal Race on Centre Course.

Australians Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page are on track to defend their Men’s 470 world championship after taking the overall lead from Great Britain duo Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell on Day 6 of the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships.

Men’s 470 Day 5: Power sailing and misjudgments
Great Britain’s Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell and Australia’s Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page made clean sweeps in the Men’s 470 racing on Day 5 of the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships. They ended the day with equal points in the provisional Fleet Overall listing, followed by Croatia's team of Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic seven points behind.
