Perth 2011 Qualification System Published
Perth 2011 Event Director John Longley said that although each Member National Authority (MNA) was guaranteed only one place per event, they could get up to six places each, in less numerous classes. Additional places will be granted based on the respective 2010 World Championships (or the European Championships for the Stars and 49ers) and on ISAF rankings. The MNAs decide which sailors go to the Olympics to fill the places earned at Perth 2011.
Further, the ISAF Executive has appointed Charles Cook (USA) as the Principle Race Officer (PRO), Bernard Bonneau (FRA) as Chair of the Jury and Dick Batt (GBR) as the International Technical Officer (ITO – measurer) for Perth 2011. They all held similar roles at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Sailing Competition, in Qingdao.
