ENP Athlete Wins and WA Sailor becomes National Champion!

An ENP athlete, RS:X sailor Howard Chang, of Chinese Taipei, has won the 2010 Australian Championships and a Western Australian sailor, Tim Gourlay, who trains at the Fremantle Sailing Club, has claimed the title of 2010 Men’s National Champion!

Olympian Jessica Crisp, of NSW, has taken out the 2010 Female National Championship title.

Fremantle Sailing Club hosted the 2010 Australian RS:X Championships and the ENP Regatta between 19-21 February, 2010.  Local sailors took gold in all three Laser classes.  All ENP Laser and RS:X sailors qualified for the Medal Race, with two of the ENP Laser competitors placing second and third overall.  The two women in the ENP programme both medalled in the Laser Radial event.  Please click here for the full story and click here for full results.

At the regatta, Perth 2011 staff and volunteers trialled various on and off water systems that may be utilised during Perth 2011.  Perth 2011 is grateful to the volunteers who gave up their time and offered their boats to assist on the weekend – a busy one, when many people were involved with the Rottnest Island Swim!

The final ENP Regatta before the Perth International Regatta (the main test event), will be held on the 15 and 16 May, 2010, during the fourth ENP Intensive Training Session.
