This is the first time Sri Lanka has been represented at the Emerging Nations Programme (ENP) and De Rosayro is one of two athletes from Sri Lanka to participate. From the time she was very young, De Rosayro has been active and loved the outdoors. She regularly visits wildlife parks and has developed an appreciation of nature. She has excelled at other sports in the past besides sailing, including basketball, badminton, swimming and soccer. De Rosayro says ‘sailing is not just a sport, it is a lifestyle’. She has sailed internationally and is ‘living her dream’. She has fun, but also never gives up and is mentally tough. Difficulties she faces coming from Sri Lanka include poor knowledge of currents and tides as most of her training is on lakes and internationally she has to sail on oceans during competitions. De Rosayro studies in Melbourne, Victoria
