PRAKASH ALEXANDER


Alexander started sailing in 2005. As a junior sailor, he was mentored by a National Champion in windsurfing. He won his first medal, a silver, in the Mistral lightweight category at the 2005 Windsurfing National Championship, having only been on a windsurfer for a few months! He won a Bronze in 2007 and Gold at the Yachting Association of India Annual Regatta 2009. He loves the sport and is now “addicted to sailing”. He chose sailing because he wanted to do something different to others, he didn’t want to be “just another brick in the wall”. He is a soldier in the Indian Army. He speaks English, Hindi and Tamil.
