Ron Packer
Ron Packer has been involved in property management and investment, both privately and through the ASX listed P A Property Trust.
Ron has been a member of a number of industry advisory committees and has served on the Commercial Tribunal and on the Board of the Western Australian Maritime Museum.
On the sailing front Ron has completed seven Sydney Hobart races. He has also competed in the Newport Bermuda Race, the Trans Atlantic Race, the Fastnet Race, the Admiral's Cup 1973 the America's Cup in 1974, the Kenwood Cup in 1990, the America's Cup Jubilee 2001, the New York Yacht Club Sesquicentennial Regatta in 1994 and eight World Championships in the Soling, Etchells and Flying Fifteen Classes.
On the administration side of sailing Ron has been involved in all aspects of yacht club activities including serving as Commodore of Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club from 1994 - 1996. He has been President, Secretary and/or Treasurer of various class associations and was a member of the Organising Committee for the Etchells Class Australian Championships 1989, World Championships 1991, Australian Championships 1996 and the Royal Yacht Squadron Organising Committee for the America’s Cup Jubilee 2001.
